1. How does this whole thing work?

Indie Music Philippines will hook you up with our partner Record Labels. They will help you build your digital music files to be sold in the Indie Music Philippines site.

We are doing this to ensure that all works in IMP are high quality.  This is also an opportunity for budding artists to gain guidance and support from the Record Labels.

2. How come there are no sign-up fees?  Is there a catch?

We understand that many artists have a difficult time with music distribution because of the high costs. By taking away the sign-up fees, we are hoping to get a lot more artists on board.

The only catch is that we share the profits from the sales of digital music.  It’s still a win-win scenario for everybody.

3. How does revenue-sharing model work?

IMP and the artist will be splitting the earnings from the sales based on an agreed percentage. It’s like paying IMP a commission for selling your work. The advantage for YOU is that IMP will not charge you anything if there are no sales.

4. What makes you different from iTunes, Amazon MP3 and other music stores?

In a way we are similar to these popular stores in that we sell digital music. However, the advantage we are offering you is our flexibility to adapt to changes and our focus on a market niche, which is indie music or music made by independent artists.

5. We are already on iTunes, Amazon MP3 and other music stores. Why should we sign up with you?

Congratulations if you’re on these popular stores!  It’s difficult to place your work there, so you really deserve to be congratulated.

Now to answer your question. The best scenario for you is for your music to be available in as many stores as possible.  It’s similar to having your CD’s on display at different music stores.  It’s good that you’re on the popular stores, but it doesn’t hurt to be on IMP, too.
